A Legacy of Excellence

Since 1981, William Baum has been a cornerstone of the dental laboratory industry, serving as a Master Dental Technician and Certified Dental Technician. His journey is defined by a commitment to clinical precision and artisanal craft. Instructor at NYU College of Dentistry, Postgraduate Prosthodontics, for more than 25 years. Bill's approach is rooted in being a true team member, collaborating closely with dentists during patient treatment to ensure every restoration is a perfect match in both form and function.

As a small laboratory, every dentist I work with matters. I partner with prosthodontists, general dentists, oral surgeons and periodontists, and my goal is the same as yours: the best possible restoration for your patient. I make myself accessible, at the lab, between classes at NYU, even on weekends, so you can reach me when a case needs a conversation. If that sounds like the lab partner you are looking for, call me and let us talk about your needs and whether we are a good fit.

- Bill Baum, MDT, CDT

What MDT and CDT Mean for Your Practice

For you, that means a technician who understands occlusion and treatment planning, and can talk through a case with you at that level.

CDT, Certified Dental Technician

Awarded by the National Board for Certification in Dental Technology to technicians who pass written and practical exams, and maintained through required continuing education every year. It is independent proof of competence and an ongoing commitment to current materials and techniques.

MDT, Master Dental Technician

Earned through the American Society of Master Dental Technologists program: 150 classroom hours, 120 hours of laboratory work plus home study, and a three-part exam covering a written test, a full-mouth wax-up and an oral examination. Its focus is the stomatognathic system, anatomy, physiology and occlusion, so restorations are designed around how your patient actually functions.
